The Publisher Newsreservoir, one of the leading Northern online platform, Hajiya Zainab Tanimu has called on the government and well-to-do Nigerians to support female online publishers in Nigeria to grow.
Determined, focused and foresighted publisher who received the Best female of the Year, Online Peace Award of Excellence during the Kabido Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ Kaduna’s Maiden Lecture/Awards made this call in a brief interview with our correspondent in Kaduna.
As mothers she said, “we have a great role to play in nation building. Not only do we have the capacity to look in depth on issues of national and general concerns but also have the God given attributes of being peace ambassadors.
“Therefore, these qualities if well harnessed by giving us the necessary support would go a long way in helping to reposition as well as project the image of the nation through our various platforms. We have all it takes to promote peace. All that is needed is just a small push. She maintained.
According to her, “We need women in the online business. Unfortunately, the terrain is such a tough one that many women get scared because you need not just have the talent but the financial capability to stay on board.
“Please we are also appealing to our women, our mothers because we do have well to do amongst us to give their support so that we can project more of women issues many which have been swept under the carpets and have led to the destabilization of most homes.”
