We Need Women To Change The Dynamic, Reshape Conversation – Commissioner
Commissioner for Women and children Affairs, Mrs Faith Orubo Opuene has emphasised the need  for  women to support one another  in the society.
She stated  this  when  the Bayelsa State Chapter of the Stand Up for Women Society SWS  paid her  a courtesy visit in her office at  the State Secretariat Complex.
Mrs Opune said we need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded.
The Honourable Commissioner who commended the state government for giving women the opportunity to serve in the previous  and the present Administration also urged the group to ensure that the aims and objectives of the organization is duly achieved by ensuring that they diligently carry out their responsibilities.
While emphasising on capacity building and improving on local content, Mrs Opune said women should be ready, equipped and prepared for major roles in the Society especially in educational and economic sector.
Speaking earlier, Coordinator of the Stand Up for Women Society Mrs Timinepere  Jombo Idoko, who led the delegation appreciated the Honourable Commissioner for granting them audience within a short notice.
Mrs Idoko said the reason for the visit is to  identify with the  Ministry and officially inform the Honourable commissioner of the activities of the  great organisation and the plans of the forth coming inauguration of the state chapter in September along side other states in the south – South Zone.
She said the standup for women society is  a non political, non religious as well non ethical  noting that it is established to advocate policies, that will advance capacity development and economic empowerment for  women  and children.
