Northern Group Commends Gov. AbdulRasaq On Agriculture

” The agricultural revolution of the AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq led administration in Kwara state is a signal that the Governor is much aware of the benefit of the sector to human survival”, a group has said.

A group under the auspices of Arewa Solidarity Group, (ASG), has described the 10 years agricultural plan of Kwara state Government the right step in the right direction.

The group said that the agricultural Transformation Plan, designed to make Kwara food sufficient  by 2030 is on course.

The leader of the group, Isa Ahmed on Tuesday in Kaduna disclosed that the 10 year agricultural plan which was launched sometime last was to ensure food security.

Ahmed during a press conference also said that the launched of the plan has  attracted investments to the sector, create jobs, reduce poverty, and create inclusive growth by giving equal opportunities for women and girls since last year.

” It is obvious that since the launch of the 10 years agricultural plan, the plan is already improving the living standard of the farmers; creating indirect jobs in its numbers,” Ahmed said.

He noted that the plan which was hinged on six pillars: crop production, finance, livestock, access to market, value chain, and cross-cutting programmes have in no small measure added value to the living standard of the farmers in the state.

The group thanked all the stakeholders, partners, while also urging all the players for the initiative which has now changed the narrative for better.
