Hajiya Maryam Abubakar, Chairperson, WOMENHOOD FOUDATION of Nigeria and Proprietor, WOMENHOOD School of Health Sciences Kaduna while presenting some food items which included a wrapper each to widows in the pen profession said the gesture was a way of extending their love and care and to tell them that they were not alone.

She charged them to keep their hopes high as all is not lost.

“Being a widow does not mean all is lost. God Almighty is your strength and would always be there to support you. We are presenting this token to you to show that we care”.

Hajiya Maryam called on the well-to do in the society to always come out to support the needy as such is best in the sight of Allah.

Responding, Hajiya Zainab on behalf of her colleagues thanked the foundation for the gesture saying, nobody ever remembers them. Widows in Nigeria she said are not accorded the necessary attention.

“Widows are suffering. The system has not given adequate attention to this group. We are appealing to the government to help in putting measures in place that would bring succor to widows in Nigeria”.  She said.
