Christian Clerics Congratulate Muslims on the Successful Completion of Ramadan Fast

As Muslims  worldwide  marked Eid-El-Fitr after sighting the new month of shawwal, which marks the end of Ramadan, Christians clerics  have congratulated the faithful and urge them to use the lessons learnt during the 29 days of the holy month in promoting peaceful co-existence and religious tolerance during and after the festivity.

General Overseer of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry, Sabon Tasha; Pastor Yohanna Buru during an interview with the press ,said Ramadan is one of the pillars upon which Islam is built, whereby Muslims are called upon by Almighty Allah to observe 29 or 30 days of fast.

”We congratulate you for the successful completion of the 30 days of Ramadan, the prayers and fasting you offered which include some special night prayers for peace and unity in Nigeria; may the Almighty answer your prayers to keep us together  in peace and harmony.

“As Islam and Christianity teach us to forgive one another, we should also remember that we are from one family, Adam and Eve. We worship one God; we all believe in paradise and hell, we believe in the holy books which are Bible and Quran as well as believe in the day of resurrection. Therefore, we must be our brothers keepers.

He urged all Muslim faithful to love their brothers and sisters in other religions and see themselves as one at all times.

Pastor Buru while stressing the importance of alms giving said this year’s Ramadan season has recorded huge success in view of the encouraging participation by various Christian organizations during Iftar period to enhance inter-faith activities with other religious faithful meant to strengthen peaceful co-existence.

He emphasized on the importance of remembering the Internally Displaced Person (IDPs), destitute, widows, orphans, and Inmates during the sallah celebration.

”The economic hardship is really getting tougher and tougher and the masses are finding it extremely difficult to eat three square meals per day.

In other to reduce the hardship faced by many Nigerians, the church has decided to distribute food stuffs to some Muslims. Such people like the beggars, widows, inmates and orphanage homes so as to make them happy during the Sallah celebration.

“On behalf of the Pastors, Reverend, Evangelists and the entire members of Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry, I wish Muslims all over the world Barka da Sallah. We always celebrate sallah with our Muslim brothers. ” He said.

Responding, Reverend Titus ishiya congratulating Muslims Ummah had prayed for peace and unity between Muslims and Christians

He called for more tolerance, unity and peaceful coexistence as they celebrate, emphasizing that no meaningful development can take place without those things.

The Christian cleric advised Muslims to imbibe the lessons learnt during the Ramadan in order to make the fasting rite worthwhile.

Reverend David Abaya while congratulating them said,

“During our Lenten period 40 days fasting, so many Muslims sent us good wishes and also congratulated us for the completion of the fast. We must therefore congratulate our Muslims brothers and may God answer their prayers”.

Also Archbishop Mathew Man’oso Ndago in his own contribution felicitates with Muslims worldwide, urging them to used sallah period in promoting peace and unity.

Mallam Gambo Abdullahi Barnawa , expressed satisfaction over the cordial relationship between Muslims and Christians in Kaduna state; saying “We are really grateful for the kind gesture extended to us from the beginning of the holy month to the end,” adding that “Only God will bless them for the vital roles they’ve played.”

“We appreciate the ECWA Church for distribution of hundred bags of rice and other food stuffs to Muslims Ummah during the Ramadan.

“We also want to show our appreciation to Christ Evangelical Intercessory Fellowship Ministry who always distribute food and drinks to many Muslims during the period,” he said.

“There is so much to achieve in the country by working together as one. I urge all promoters of hate speeches and divisive tendencies to desist for the interest of the future of our upcoming generations”.

Gambo called on our leaders to provide employment for jobless youth while providing a permanent solution to the security challenges facing the nation.

He appealed to all Nigerians to embrace religious tolerance as that would help in promoting peace across the country as well as enhance national development.
