Mulud, NASFAT Doka Group: Cleric Urges Nigerians to Imbibe Spirit of Togetherness
Zainab Tanimu
Kaduna, Northwest Nigeria
A re-owned Kaduna based lslamic cleric,
Muhammed Ashiru Abdulsalam
Albadawi has called on Nigerians to see themselves first as human irrespective of their tribal or religious affiliation..
This call was made during the Mulud celebration organized by NASFAT Kaduna Doka Group at Muri road Mosque.
According to the scholar, ‘Malud’ that is, the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammed (SAW) is a very important gathering of which every Muslim is supposed to have time to partake.
“For example, we celebrate Lailatul kodir,  Walimatul Quran etc. Mulud is more important than any occasion in lslam.”
As to what is expected of a Muslim Ummah during this occasion, he said.
“When we celebrate Mulud Nabiyi, it is not the celebration alone that is required. We need to emulate the virtues of the Holy Prophet SAW. His deeds, his ways of life, how he related with people, both Muslims and non Muslims etc.
“If you love Prophet Muhammed SAW, let it reflect in your actions. Let there be a change in you. That sober reflection. For instance, if you were drinking before, leave it. if you’re a thief or one who engages in things Allah doesn’t want, for the sake of the love you have for Prophet Muhammed SAW, leave it . Emulate the Prophet. Turn a new live. He added.
In the case of our leaders, he said.
“As for our leaders, we have problems. My call to them is that they should fear God. ‘Amana’ (that is, trust) is very important as a Muslim. Even if the people you are ruling are non Muslims, you shouldn’t cheat them. Anabi (saw) doesn’t like that.
Our leaders entrusted with the affairs of their people should do the needful.
The erudite scholar also urged the followers to play their parts and cautioned that they desist from raining curses on their leaders in order that they can get their bearings.
“Though we have problems with our leaders. We shouldn’t be cursing them. You didn’t curse them, and yet, they don’t do the right thing, and you’re adding more with your curse. That will be too much for us. All l am saying is that they should fear God.”
NASFAT Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Popoola Gambari  appreciating Doka Group for their efforts urged them not to relent on their owls.
“Doka Group really impressed me. I did not expect what l am seeing. It really encourages me to the extent that l am planning to see how l can  make the group to become branch. Infact all the criteria a group requires to become a branch, they have achieved it.
The Missionary board are really trying. They have scored more than 50%, and our target is 50%. Once you can reach 50%, we will be considering you becoming a branch.
This group is more than a group. You can see it yourself. See their activities, and number of people.
Insha Allah, we will not stop there, but ensure that they become a branch. He added.
On the importance of the Mulud Nabiyi celebration, he has this to say.
“Malud Nabiyi is what Anabi Mohammed (saw) celebrated every week. Mondays, he will fast. Look at that . If the Holy Prophet (SAW) will fast on his birthday.  What about us? How can someone just gather people and be beating drum, dancing and be uttering words that are not expected of a Muslim?
That is not Mulud.
“We encourage people to use the Mulud period to do good to Muslims and non Muslims. There is need to emulate the good virtues of the Holy Prophet. (SAW) Not  beating drum and dancing. That is not Mulud.
The Chairman, NASFAT Kaduna Branch, who spoke through NASFAT Kaduna Branch’s Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Alebiosun who was at NASFAT Doka Group to felicitate with them on the celebration of the Malud Nabiyi described the activities of the group as impressive.
I am here to represent the branch Chairman Alhaji AbdulGaniyu Ajao. We are highly impressed with what we met. Since inception, this group has been growing stronger and stronger.
On the Mulud Nabiyi’s celebration, he said.
“Malud Nabiyi is a day of joy. We are celebrating Mulud, the question is, what does the birth of Rasullulahi (SAW) mean to us? Who is the Prophet? The Prophet, they call him the moving Quran. When you see the Prophet, you see the Quran. What we need is, let people see in you ,Islam. If we all follow the footsteps of Rasullulahi SAW, all these things that are happening in our society today will not be there. Rasullulahi SAW preaches love. All that is happening in the country today, is as a result of love that is no more.
Alhaji Suleiman charged the group not to relent as there are more challenges ahead.
“Our prayers is that Almighty Allah will allow them to surmount all the pressures  ahead of them, bijahi Rasullulahi SAW.
Chairman, NASFAT Doka Group Kaduna, Hon Musbau Adepoju while fielding questions from journalists said Mulud Nabiyi is an important celebration and should be celebrated by every Muslim.  He encouraged Muslims to Imbibe the virtues of the Holy Prophet Muhammed SAW in their day to day life.
“The way he lived his life, relating with Muslims and non Muslims. His preachings. Delivering the messages of Allah. Not only delivering it but also showed it in his ways of life.
Explaining the intention behind the distribution of parliative to members, he said times are hard.
“The situation we are in the country today, things are very hard. Money is hard to get.
The parliative we are giving is to assist our members. People are suffering so we decided to assist them with this. Not that the parliative that we are giving today will last long. At least it will assist them for a while. We pray that Almighty Allah makes things easy for us in the country.”
Speaking, the Lead Missionary NASFAT Kaduna Doka Group, Austaz Kabir Uthman described the day as a day of joy. Not only joy, but a day to reflect.
“All Muslims should rejoice on this day. Read your Quran, show love to your fellow human being irrespective of the person’s religion or tribe.
“Even the Prophet (SAW) that we are following as our leader lived with non Muslims and lived with them comfortably. So we need to emulate our Prophet in action and everything we are doing. Islam is a religion of peace.
Stressing on the need for peaceful co-existence, he said, we must live in peace.
“Allah that created us and brought us together of different tribes and colour has a reason for that. If Allah wants to separate us, He can do that.”
Election is by the corner. He cautioned against allowing ungodly elements  using people, particularly youth to cause havoc.
The Woman Leader, NASFAT Doka Group Hajiya Bashira Sheidu used this period of celebration to called on mothers to  live up to their responsibilities.
“We implore women to use this period, the month of birth of Prophet Muhammed SAW to do good, to settle amongst ourselves differences. We should use the blessings of the month to beg Allah, because we believe that Whatever you are asking from Allah this month, Allah will use the blessings of the Prophet Rasullulahi SAW to give us Insha Allah.”
Hajiya Bashira also urged parents to use the bounty in the month to pray for their children and loved one. Teach their children the way of Allah so as to be guided aright.
Speaking on the distribution of parliative,
“People are so happy about the parliative. Some said, l don’t even have a grain of rice at home. It is really appreciated. Insha Allah, next time we will do more than that.
May Allah bless the people that made it possible because is people that assisted us to make it possible. We pray that Almighty Allah replenish their pockets Insha Allah.
One of the beneficiaries has this to say.
My name is Aishatu Mohammed Sani. I am very happy. We thank Almighty Allah for seeing us through this day as we celebrate Malud.
We also thank NASFAT Doka Group for giving us parliative. May Allah bless them and those that assisted us. May they not lack Insha Allah. I pray that NASFAT continues to grow Insha Allah.
