NUC, NBTE URGED TO INTRODUCE COURSES ON HEALTH
RECORDS TECHNOLOGY…… Registrar HRORBN
The Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Health Records Officer’s Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN), Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim Mami has called on the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to commence programmes in Health Records Practice/Technology in the Universities and Polytechnics in Nigeria.
Alhaji Mohammed Mami made the call in an interview in Kaduna said, “We are soliciting the Cooperation of the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to put on programmes in Health Records Practice/Technology in the Nation’s Universities and Polytechnics”.
The Registrar explained that the Board would continue to organize conferences and continuing education workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of the practitioners.
He then called on the Managements of Health related facilities on the imperative need for them to strengthen their Health Records Department with qualified and licensed practitioners.
He announced the formation of two Committees namely investigating Panel and Professional discipline for the purpose of maintaining integrity.
According to him these Committees would identify issues suitable for professional review, gather and evaluate information especially with regards to accreditation of institutions and investigate alleged cases of misbehaviors by Registered Professionals.
Alhaji Mohammed Mami Commended the Minster of Health, Personnel of the Board, and the Professional colleagues for their support saying that “the Board would continue to work harder so as to strengthen out regulatory responsibilities of the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria.
