Soludo, Sanwo-Olu Others to Compete for GovTech Trailblazer Governor Award

The 2023 Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards, a collaborative effort between the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) and Crystal Edge Management and Technologies Ltd, has selected Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Charles Soludo of Anambra State, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, and Godwin Obaseki of Edo State as nominees for the coveted GovTech Trailblazer Governor of the Year Award.

A statement from the award organizers explained that these governors were selected from among the 36 State Governors. All selected candidates will be subject to voting through an online platform before the winner is announced. This esteemed award ceremony will shine a spotlight on exceptional individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the advancement of digital governance and public sector modernization.

The award ceremony will be the highlight of the two-day Nigeria GovTech Conference, scheduled for October 12th-13th, 2023, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

In addition to the GovTech Trailblazer Governor of the Year category, the awards will encompass  other categories including the Digital Local Government Chairman of the Year. Notable figures such as Hon. Ali Bolori, Hon. Aminu Yakubu Ladan, Hon. Rasaq Olushola Ajala, Hon. Uchenna Ejim, Sir Cletus Ekpo, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike, Dr. Thomas Bariere, Hon. I. Ekenem, Hon. Ikenna Nwodo, Engr. S. Richifa, Prince Usman Hamza, Hon. Shehu Pawa, Hon. Razaq Ajala, and Hon. Ikenna Nwodo, among others,have been selected to compete in this category. Other award categories include Best MDA in Digital Transformation, Best MDA in Cyber Security Excellence, Best MDA in Open Data, Best MDA in Blockchain Innovation, among other categories for Federal and State MDAs.

Nominations and voting for the awards commenced on August 31st, 2023, and will conclude at midnight on September 12th, 2023.
