Nastrul – Lahi -L- Fatih Society (NASFAT) Women in line with the organization’s Health, Education, Livelihood and Da’wah (HELD) policy said, it will donate a 3Obed hospital to Fountain University Oshogbo.
This was disclosed by NASFAT National Women Affairs Secretary, Mrs Suweebah Bola Aduke Kupolati at the just concluded Kaduna Zone, 1st Biennial Zonal Women’s Conference.
Kupolati before declaring the conference open had in her keynote address commended the women of the zone for their efforts and sacrifices in contributing towards the upliftment of the religion Islam while urging that more support be given to make the project a reality.
“Today gives me an opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to the Kaduna Zone, Zonal Women Management, Women Affairs Secretaries, Women’s Wing and general membership of the Zone for your strength, resilience, efforts and sacrifice especially towards Women Management’s activities and contributions towards Women projects.
There is reward in good deed. She said.
“You shall be rewarded for every single patient being treated in the hospital. An invaluable act of Sadaqah Jariyah which will impact countless lives. I pray Allah (SWT) reward us in multiple folds as we spend in His cause.
“Despite myriad of challenges in our country, ranging from economic issues, hardship high inflation rate, high cost of food items, it is worthy to note that our women never stopped being strong supporters of our programmes.
“I commend you for your commitment, dedication and selfless service towards the growth of NASFAT and donating generously to women and Society programme”.
The conference she said will provide a fora for the women within the Zones to come together to discuss and brainstorm on issues and ideas relating to Women advancement. By so doing chart the way forward for the Women Management Committee and the Society as a whole.
Speaking on the theme of the conference, “Sincerity of Purpose: A virtue of A Muslimah” and the Sub theme, “Polygamy: A Problem or A Solution”?
Women, she charged should follow that which is enjoined on them by Allah in the holy Quran as well as adhere to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammed (saw) in order to earn a better life here on earth and in the hereafter.
The lecture she noted, is to reawaken the Muslimah to actively cultivate the virtue of sincerity in their worship and deeds.
.
“Prophet (saw) said: Verily, the people will be raised for judgment only according to their intentions. The Prophet stated in the hadith that naseehah should be given to five categories: to Allah, His Book, His Messenger, to the leaders of the Muslims and to the common people.
“A person who means what they say is a sincere person. A person who doesn’t mean what they say is not a sincere person, and perhaps even seen as a hypocrite. Being honest and direct about your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs will help others get to know us on a mutually-sincere level. Don’t exaggerate your responses, reactions, or feelings.
“Allah tests those who have, even those who have been given very little to see their trust in Him.
“Good deeds given with sincerity, no matter how simple, may be compensated with.
“Acts of charity or virtue done without sincerity will be done in vain
Allah may save someone based on a single event or circumstance in his/her
life.”
Still admonishing women on the virtues of good deeds.
“Please as Muslimah, we should protect our sincerity and integrity. Similarly, on the Sub theme “Polygamy: A Problem or A Solution”, we want our women and other Muslim women to have deep knowledge and understanding of polygamous marriage in line with the teachings of the Qu’ran and principles of shari’ah.
According to Imam Ali Ibn Abi Ralib (as) said “people are Afraid of what they do not understand”. If our women understand properly that polygamous marriage is a social necessity and in the ultimate interest of both women and men perhaps, the negative attitude of some women towards it will reduce.”
Kupolati appreciated all the friends of NASFAT and executives for being supportive.
“I congratulate and thank you all for being part of this conference despite the economic challenges.
I thank the Zonal Executive Council, Zonal Women Affairs Secretary, Branch Executive Council, Council of Elders, Mission Board, Youth Wing, Branch Women Secretaries, Group Women Coordinators, Women’s Wing in general, HQ Women Management representatives in my entourage.
Thanks to the Conference Organizing Committee members for all the sacrifices, hard work and commitments towards the success of this conference.
We sincerely appreciate our Conference Coordinators I, II and III for your financial support and all dignitaries who have travelled long distances to honor our invitation.
I say Alhamdullilah.
Dr. Luqman Salati a member of NASFAT Kaduna branch’s Mission board delivering a lecture on the sub topic, “polygamy”, defined Polygamy as a
“state of marriage to many spouse.” Though an act permissible in Islam,  however,  Islam does not give men the ‘blanket right’ to have more than one wife. He said.
Explaining further,
“Polygamy is not a right but a responsibility to ensure social justice for orphans or the oppressed. What ALLAH has granted is in fact a restriction on an existing practice of that time when men could marry as many as they wanted Monogamy, on the other hand, which is the practice of marrying one wife by a man; is generally recommended by ALLAH as a form of marriage for men. However, polygamy was encouraged to protect the interests of the oppressed or the orphans. If justice can be done by marrying more than one wives (Q.4:3).
“Historians have noted that Islamic guidance on polygamy was issued amid wars in Arabia in the seventh century, when there were many widows and orphans requiring financial support, and that polygamy created a system for them to be cared for. This was a period of tragedy in Islam.
After the battle of Uhud, when dozens of men from the still formative Muslim community in Medina were killed in one day. Numerous women and children were left without support. To deal with this problem, ALLAH revealed the verse permitting men to be polygamous.
“If you fear that you might not treat the orphans justly, then marry the women that seem good to you: two, or three, or four. If you fear that you will not be able to treat them justly, then marry (only) one, or marry from among those whom your right hands possess. This will make it more likely that you will avoid injustice.
The erudite scholar explaining further said,
In some African societies, a man’s wealth is measured by the number of wives he has. But in Islam, polygamy has come to stay as an imperative alternative to the fading and problematic monogamy which is now fraught with daunting epilepsy of survival.
Attempting to x-ray polygamy from Islamic perspectives with a view to answering the question of whether it is a solution or a problem to the myriads of challenges facing our homes in particular and our society in general, he said.
“Indeed, the greatest necessity of polygamy, and of course, the mother of all necessities to occur is destiny. In essence, ALLAH Himself is regarded as the major cause of polygamy, and it is best known to HIM what HE Intends to use polygamy to do within the family system in particular and in our society as a whole using destiny as a means Q.17:84).
Say, “Nothing will ever befall us except what Allah has destined for us. He is our Protector.” So in Allah let the believers put their trust.
As for the advantage of Polygamy,
It helps to reduce the high number of unmarried women.
It helps to teach the ummah how to treat the women.
Speaking, Chairman of the occasion, Arc. Tajudeen Bakare commended the erudite scholars, Permanent Commissioner Peace Commission, Hajiya Khadija Hawaja Gambo, Mallam Hamzah Yusuf and Mallam Ismail Abdulkadir from Da’wah institute of Nigeria Minna and Dr. Luqman Salati, member, NASFAT Kaduna Mission board for doing justice to the theme of the event.
On the sub topic, “polygamy”, which he described as a child of necessity, he called on the Muslimah to embrace the  system with sincerity since Allah has made it so.
There should be display of maturity by those involved despite the fact that sometimes it is a bitter pill to swallow.
The greatest cause of polygamy he said is destiny. That is, by – design.
“By Devine Providence one can find  herself in such condition.
Some people will go and meet polygamy while some, polygamy will go and meet them.
“Polygamy is not the problem but those practicing it are the problem.
Favouritism and jealousy are part of the reasons why women are against Polygamy.” He said.
He advised women to manage their jealousy so as not to lead to envy which could cause unhealthy condition in a home.
While calling on the men to play their roles justly and fairly, polygamy,
despite it impact on mental health of those involved like the children, the man and the woman, it has some  advantages. Such advantages being  that of allowing others to share resources of a successful man, and that it offers companionship.
Bakare charged Muslims to emulate the Holy Prophet (saw) who married wives to give them succor.  “Our prophet is our model of polygamy”.
Arc. Tajudeen congratulated NASFAT Zonal women for their initiative as he wished them a fruitful deliberation.
He was represented at the occasion by hajiya, Sekinat Kielani.
“It is my hope that from the conference we can evolve how a Muslimah navigates in order to retain the above virtues in a polygamous setting.”
