Kaduna: Fish out the killers of Chalya Silas – NAWOJ urges security agents, Government

Kaduna Chapter of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists NAWOJ has condemned the killing of a  national Youth service Corp member, Miss Chalya Silas  serving in Kaduna.

The association has described the death of the slain copper as unacceptable as justice must be done to bring the culprits of this heinous act to book.

This was contained in a statement jointly signed by NAWOJ Chairperson, Hajiya Fatima Aliyu Mahuta and Secretary, Maureen Sheyin.

It is calling on the security agencies and the state government to hasten, arrest and bring to book those behind this killing.

Late Miss Chalya Silas was killed

while having her usual morning jogging at Barnawa.

According to the statement,

“Kaduna NAWOJ strongly condemns this ungodly act. Government must as part of its responsibilities ensure that justice is done by deploying everything necessary to unravel the killers.

“The death of the slain copper has thrown the nation into a state of deep mourning. It is not enough to direct a manhunt for the killers of Chalya Silas, but for the perpetrators to be apprehended and be seen to be punished accordingly. The statement added.

The association sincerely commensurate with the family of the deceased.
