NASFAT Kaduna Branch Charts Wayforward, Says, Effective Leadership, Key to Success

Chairman, NASFAT Kaduna branch, Alhaji AbdulAkeem Adeniji has described effective leadership as key to achieving success.

Leadership is like a burden on the people that Allah has chosen to be in that position. He said.

Adeniji stated this during  a chat with Hajiya Zainab Tanimu of Newsreservoir while explaining the reason behind the introduction of an open quarterly discussion fora.

According to him, the open discussion will provide opportunity for a robust understanding among the leaders and the led.

“One of the effective ways of leadership is to make sure that there is continuous feedback from the leaders to the led.

“That has prompted us to have conscious efforts in making sure that every quarter we give back to our members in terms of our activities, our income and expenditure, and our challenges in order for them to proffer solutions to them.

“Members will be able to tell us what we have done wrong, tell us what we have done right, areas that we have not seen for us to make corrections for effective leadership, to be able to improve on the growth and development of NASFAT.”

Adeniji giving account of his stewardship called for the support of every member as he cannot do it alone.

“The present regime was inaugurated on Sunday, 20th August 2023 at NASFAT Village Kaduna.

This consists of Branch Executive Council made up of Twenty-Two (22) members including the Branch Missioner.

The Secretariat serves as a focal point for the co-ordination of assigned roles.

The Branch’s activities he stated are systematically categorized and keyed into the H.E.L.D programme of the National Executive Council of the Society.”

‘H’ = health; ‘E’ = empowerment: ‘L’  = livelihood and ‘D’ = Dawah.

Explaining further,

The last open discussion took place on the 15th October, 2023.

“Like l made mentioned during the last open discussion, the economic situation in the country is taking toll on our membership.

Despite challenges aggravated by the  situation, we have been able to make considerable progress.”

The management he stated has put in place action plan on ways to generate income to meet up the soaring expenses of the society.

The branch’s activities in the year 2023, which were systematically categorized and keyed into the H.E.L.D programme of the National Executive Council of the Society he said received adequate attention.

Adeniji gave a breakdown of part of the report presented to branch membership.

In the area of health,
“As part of the HELD agenda, the Branch is committed to the wellbeing of all our members by providing adequate drugs and other medical consumables in our health stand.

“In terms of  empowering our members; under livelihood and development, during the 8th October 2023 exercise, distribution of N3,921,731.42k-million-naira worth of equipment and empowerment materials were made to 41 members and non-members of the society.”

Eighty-four percent of the total amount of Zakat received he explained  were from non-members and outside Kaduna State.

“Under the Education/School Development, the  School Board, headed by Alhaji Waheed Amusa with his committed members we were able to close the last academic session with over N2m as profit.

The surplus realized is committed to the development of the school’s ongoing project.”

“The branch Management has made the school building development one of its priority projects of this administration. All funds are to be channeled to achieve the board’s aim of getting WAEC, NECO and Jamb CBT Centre in the nearest future.” He stressed.

“Under Da’wah activities, trainings and conferences, are vigorously  pursued.

“There is resuscitation of Adult Islamiyyah. Also, participation of members in biennial conferences, Annual Women’s Week. Annual Youth Week programmes.The society has also introduced the Shari’a Intelligence Training.”

Other areas captured were the administrative activities where he shedded light on achievements recorded and how members jointly contributed on tackling the grey areas for effective administration. A standing committee was put in place to ease the task.

“For transparency and in line with the constitution and financial guidelines read out the financial status to the hearing of every member.

The Branch Executive Council he intimated has approved the consolidation and harmonization of all the bank accounts that are being operated within the branch in line with the constitution and financial guidelines of the society.

Adeniji however lamented the lack of

enough professional members like lawyers, medical doctors, nurses, engineers, accountants needed to occupy professional positions in the society.

In his plea, he urged members to be committed and be ready to fill relevant positions for the growth of the society.

There was also an appeal from the BEC  to the Stakeholders and members for supports in terms of constructive advice and fund generating processes.

“BEC would appreciate the continuous collaboration of Stakeholders in the infrastructural development of the NASFAT School.

“BEC is appealing to the BCOE and Stakeholders to resuscitate the monthly collection during Asalat session.

We urge for continuous and prompt payment of our monthly voluntary contributions.”

Part of the discussion also bordered on the need for formal registration of members with membership committee.

In it appreciation, the Branch Executive Council used the opportunity to thank all the members of the Branch Stakeholder for their supports in all ramifications.

The branch hopes to sustain the open discussion on a quarterly basis. Adeniji stated.
