The visit initiated by its media committee which was led by the Chairperson of the Committee, Secretary FOMWAN, Hajiya Hadiza  Umar was meant to solicit partnership with the organisation in order to ensure successful outing.

Received by the Managing Director of the cooperation Alhaji Ahmed Maiyaki and members of his executive, the Amirah, after appreciating  their warm reception gave a brief on some of the  association’s activities and areas seeking for cooperation.

While seeking support to make the event great, the preparation she informed is going on well. All the committees both at the national and local level are committed towards achieving success.
Speaking, Ahmed Maiyaki commended FOMWAN for their activities particularly the hospital which he said has been of great assistance to those within and outside the community.
He described the visit as timely, and marking of their 40th anniversary, a great milestone.
“For the association to attain its 40th anniversary, this is a milestone for the organization and for all of us.
We are very aware of some of the things the association have been doing around education, around health and empowerment of its members over the past years. So this is a great milestone.
“We are quite excited to go into that partnership that will ensure a very successful anniversary celebration and the conference that is planned to hold in Kaduna in August.
Let seat down and look at where we can partner.” He assured.
During the interaction, Maiyaki had expressed concern over what he described as worrisome, that is, the issue of marriage.
He lamented over the rate with which marriages hit the rock, particularly amongst young ones while calling that FOMWAN do something about it by creating more awareness on issues surrounding peaceful and healthy married life.
“Let there be a conversation around it. It is worrisome the rate of divorce. Many women go into marriage but before you know it they get out of it. We need to engage more frequently on the marriage counselling.
“Over the years l know FOMWAN have been championing different thematic areas, in education, in health in women Empowerment etc. l pleaded with FOMWAN to see how they can also include in their advocacy the issue of strengthening the institution of marriage. .
Excited to hear Amirah’s response that FOMWAN already has something on ground to address the issue,
” I am very elated to hear that the association has already began a marriage counselling exercise that will engage couples before they get married.
That you are into different issues about marriage. That will help in strengthening the institution and it will reduce the rate of divorce that we have which is so rampant particularly in marriages amongst young people.”
The visit ended on an impressive note as other members of the executive gave inputs and show commitments towards making the event worthwhile.

Amirah FOMWAN speaking to Hajiya Zainab Tanimu of Newsreservoir shortly after the visit has this to say.
“Alhamdulilah. So far so good, things are moving on smoothly. All the committees are on their feet to ensure that they work based on their work plan towards the success of the conference.
Honestly, l am so impressed with the media team.
Like today, as you can see, the media team has mobilised all the members. We have started the courtesy visit with the Kaduna state media cooperation, KSMS. Based on what we have heard from the Managing Director, they are ever ready to partner with us, to support us in terms of mobilization, coverage and aftermath. Alhamdulilah.”
She stated other areas of collaboration.
Like the health committee has paid courtesy visit to ministry of health, Kaduna state primary health care and Barau Dikko hospital for them to be able to establish partnership.
There are other places visited such as security agencies to take charge of security and others.
