It was a robust discussion at the Tetfund town hall meeting with stakeholders and beneficiary institutions from Northwest geopolitical zone held in Kano as stakeholders and head of beneficiary institutions in the region had far reaching discussions with Tetfund on way forward.

This type of meeting serves as a vital platform for engaging with institutions, providing updates, and gathering feedback to ensure effective and efficient implementation of Tetfund’s mandate to improve tertiary education in Nigeria.

Speaking on the theme, “Challenges in Nigeria’s Tertiary Education Sub- Sector and the Emergence of Tetfund”,

Northwest University reiterated the need for continuous strengthening of TETFUND intervention and stakeholders engagement, transparency and accountability.

The meeting provided a direct channel for Tetfund to interact with Heads of Beneficiary Institutions and other stakeholders from the Northwest zone.

This gave an opportunity to to share information on Tetfund’s ongoing and upcoming interventions, new guidelines, and procurement processes.

Not only that, the town hall fostered discussions, allowing stakeholders to provide feedback and suggestions to help shape future Tetfund interventions.

This kind of gathering serves as capacity building where institutions become well-informed about how to effectively utilize allocated funds and access new funding cycles.

Tetfund’s core mandate is to disburse and manage education tax to government-owned tertiary institutions for the improvement of the sector.

Tetfund’s interventions cover a wide range of areas, including research, infrastructure, capacity development, and providing grants for educational projects.
