Barau Jibrin Mourns Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, Describes His Death as lrreplaceable Loss

Deputy President of the Senate Senator Barau l. Jibrin, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who passed away in the early hours of Thursday.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Alhaji Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau said the passing of the revered scholar leaves “a huge vacuum that will be difficult to fill.” He praised Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s lifelong dedication to Islam, humanity, and the global Muslim community.

The Senator noted that the late spiritual leader touched millions of lives through his preaching, scholarship, and guidance.
“I mourn the passing of our renowned Islamic scholar and leader — a great icon whose light illuminated the lives of Muslims across Nigeria and beyond,” he said.

Barau highlighted Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s steadfast commitment to Qur’anic teaching, his leadership of the Tijaniyya movement, and his efforts in establishing Qur’anic schools and humanitarian programmes, describing them as contributions that shaped generations.

“He was more than a scholar; he was a father, teacher, and guide to millions,” he added.

Senator Barau, who also serves as First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, extended condolences to the scholar’s family, students, the Muslim Ummah, and all who benefited from his spiritual leadership. He prayed to Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant him the highest place in Janntul Firdaus, while comforting his family and followers.
