NYG: Team Kaduna zooms into finals of swimming event

With Team Kaduna zooming into finals in different categories of swimming event at the on-going Fifth National Youth Game holding at the University of Ilorin, the day two of the competition gives high prospects of the contigents flying home with lots of gold medals as four athletes representing the team are seriously gunning for gold.
Similarly, Team Kaduna is gradually steamrolling towards medals zone in team sports.
The boys hockey team mauled their Niger State counterparts 4-0, while the girls hockey team defeated the Nasarawa girls 2-0.
In Volleyball, Team Kaduna girls defeated Team Delta girls in two straight sets 2-0 (25-16, 25-22).
Meanwhile, ahead of this Thursday’s Team Kaduna Football first group game of the team coach, Nasiru Adamu Chiji has promised to present a disciplined team against Edo State.
Coach Nasiru Chiji who disclosed this said that despite the screening of some key players out from the team, they remain upbeat.
“We have since adjusted and put it behind us. The team is in high spirit to get a result in tomorrow’s game. He assured.
“We have also discussed the tactical approach and the winning formula,” he added.
Coach Chiji further opined that football match is a three way traffic because it could be win, a loss or a draw of which the last two are not an option.
“You know your first match is as good as the final match therefore three is all we have been praying”. He concluded.
Over 4,000 atlethes, 33states are participating in the on-going National Youth Games.
