AAAE: First Francophone President Elect, Guy Blaise Nkamleu Promises To Deliver On  Association’s Vision

Dr. Guy Blaise NKAMLEU has been elected President of the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE).
He was elected on September 24, 2019 during the Association’s 6th triennial conference held this year at the Sheraton Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria from September 23-26.
More than 600 members participated in this year’s AAAE meeting, including agricultural economists, development practitioners, policymakers, academics, researchers and students.
In a press release issued and signed by the Communication Specialists and Head of Policy  Communications Unit Mrs. Onyeche Elisabeth Douglas and made available to Newsreservoir, the President Elect, Guy Blaise was said to have in his inaugural speech expressed gratitude for becoming the 6th President of the Association and the first Francophone to occupy the role.
He promised to work hard with the executive committee to deliver on the association’s vision of “supporting capacity building activities of its members, with expanded opportunities for young scientists, and contributing significantly to policy research and development on African agriculture.”
“We will implement new innovative strategies to quickly achieve the Association’s objectives and hopefully play a key role in shaping public policies and the future of agriculture in Africa,” Guy Blaise said.
According to the statement, Guy Blaise Nkamleu the President elect, is a Manager at the African Development Bank and currently serve as Lead Economist and Advisor for Agriculture, Human and Social Development.
He has an established reputation in the field of development and agricultural economics, and has published many articles and books.
He has received many distinction and awards, and his election reflects the respect and confidence his peers have in his leadership, vision and deep commitment to sustainable development of the African continent.
AAAE is an organization of agricultural economists and other professionals interested in agricultural economic issues and applied research that informs public policy to improve the productivity of African agriculture.
The AAAE the statement added is one of the most vibrant professional association on the continent, and has a vast network of agricultural economists working across Africa, and engage in a variety of teaching, research, and outreach activities, with the aim to foster agricultural and rural growth through policy research, and development.
