NASFAT Kaduna Inaugurates New EXCO, As Sheik Khalid Stresses On Effective Leadership

Natrul-Lahi -L-Fatih (NASFAT) Society, Kaduna Branch has sworn in 23 new Executive members to run its affairs for another two years.
The event which took place at NASFAT Kaduna mosques was witnessed by some dignitaries and lovers of NASFAT.
The Guest Lecturer, Secretary General, Jamatul Nastrul Islam, (JNI) Sheik, Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu in his lecture titiled, ” Effective Leadership: Islamic Perspective” emphasized on the importance of good leadership.
Leadership has not been established in anywhere than in Islam, he stressed.
Supporting it with the Holy Quran and Hadith of the Holy Prophet, SAW, he said, Allah is going to ask those in leadership on the day of ‘kiyauma’ (ressurection) on how they have led their followers.
He described leadership as a very big responsibility while calling on those in position of leadership to live up to their responsibilities.
“The leader of the people is to serve. He is to serve his people. Leadership is a very big responsibility, that is why l sympathize with our leaders.”
Explaining further, the erudite scholar listed some qualities expected of a Muslim leader, amongst which are, a leader should have listening ear, a leader should be compassionate and forgiving, focus and be able to carry the people along and most of all have the fear of Allah in all his actions.
According to him, “a man is the chief security officer of his home. He is a leader in his household, Allah will ask him how he treated his wife.
Likewise, the wife is a leader and shepherd in the home and Allah will also ask her of her responsibilities.
“Let the wife consult the husband, let the husband consult his wife, let the brothers, sisters, sons daughters consult themselves. He stressed.
To the newly inaugurated Excos, he reminded them of the tasks ahead while urging them to be dedicated to their new responsibilities.
“Leadership is about being creative, pushful, having good oversight.  Listen to the people as well as carry them along.
As a leader to the organization, put at the back of your mind the needs of the organization, advance the course of the organization.
Alhamdullilah, NASFAT has done us proud.” He said.
Sheik Khalid commending the achievements of the out-gone executives under the leadership of Engr. Muhyideen Alimi Yusuf, said NASFAT works like a family. Noting that they do not believe in office beareaucracy which he attributed to reason for it’s numerous achievements.
He also acknowledged the society’s spiritual dedication to members’  constant recitation of the Holy Quran and Zikr which he was also opportuned to participate.  It was a continuation of the Missionary board’s  seven weeks nation wide special prayer for peace conducted by the Missionary board under the leadership of Zonal/Branch Imam, Imam Marooph Muh’d Raji.
The Sheik who participated in the asalat (worship) also prayed for the society conttnious growth.
Speaking, the Zonal Chairman,  Alhaji Kabir Inuwa Bello in his commendation also acknowledged the achievements of the out-going Excos saying leaders are chosen by Allah. According to him, one can ask to be chosen but if it is not the will of Allah, one cannot get there.
Appreciating the leadership style of the out-gone Chairman, Engr. Muhyideen Alimi Yusuf, he said. “You will not know a leader until there is crisis. It is worthy of note that in the last 4yrs, a lot of achievements have been recorded.”
He urged the outgoing members to continue to support the new Excos. in their drive to attaining success.
In his valedictory speech, Engr. Muhyideen gave a brief of their 19 points achievements amongst which is the coming on stream of the NASFAT Kaduna Media Center which received commendations from both the guest speaker and those present.
Muhyideen charged the new Excos not to relent in their efforts to ensuring continuity of projects as well as restructure the committees for effectiveness.
Some of the challenges mentioned includes that of finance which he said has hampered execution of some of their projects.
While appreciating his Exccos for their supports throughout his tenure, he thanked the Zonal Chairman and his team, Council of elders, all Committees, all NASFAT members and Missionary Board for their prayers.
In his remark, the Chairman of the occasion, Regional Director, United Bank of Africa, Alhaji Isiaka Yusuf said, Allah has established NASFAT and that it’s work and dedication to the course of Islam is quite impressive.
“We have seen the handiwork of Allah SWT in NASFAT, the mosque, the school and activities.” He prayed for continuos growth of the society.
Speaking, the newly sworn in Chairman,
Alh. AbdulGaniyu Ajao who has served as NASFAT Kaduna Branch Vice Chairman for two years said the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic not withstanding, a lot was accomplished.
Aware of the task ahead of them,  he urged the new Excos members to give all their best as NASFAT assignments demands lots of sacrifices.
“NASFAT assignment requires some degree of sacrifice and a high level of concentration from all office holders in the society.
“It is in view of this that I want to especially call on every members of the society to support us in this task.
Alhaji Ajao pledged his administration’s determination to comply with the HELD agenda of the current NASFAT NEC.
That is,  NASFAT’s four key areas of interventions which are, health, education, livelihood and Da’wah. (HELD).
For successful implementation of the programmes, there will be a synergy with other partners. He said.
“We will create a coalition of internal and external forces so we can combine resources to boldly address the issues of poverty, hunger and reducing inequalities while promoting righteousness, kindness among others.” He assured.
The inauguration ceremony was performed by NASFAT’S Zonal Vice Chairman, Alhaji Kazeem Adekunle Adesanya while the
Zonal Imam/ Branch Imam, Imam Marooph Muh’d Raji prayed for the newly sworn in Executives successful tenure in office.
Also sworn in were new Shurah Committee members.
As it is NASFAT’s tradition, the spouses of all the Executives were given special recognitions for their understanding and support to their spouses during the trying period of rendering services in the course of Allah.
According to them, though trying period it was, but they learnt to absorb the heat because they became immuned to it.
