Jos-based Hausa activist, Aliyu Shuaibu, has boldly spoken a truth that many have whispered. When the price of flour shot up to ₦80,000–₦90,000, bread sellers wasted no time raising the price of bread. But now that flour has fallen to ₦35,000–₦40,000, what has changed?
Nothing. The price of bread remains painfully high.

Fellow Nigerians, this is not the time to fold our arms.
This is the moment to stand together, to raise our voices, and to demand the fairness we deserve.

If bread sellers and manufacturers could increase prices when their costs were rising, then they must reduce those prices now that the cost of flour has dropped. Fairness must work both ways.
