2019 Kaduna Guber: Ashiru is the Man whom the Cap Fits-Media Campaign Team

One of the aspirants for the 2019 Kaduna state gubernatorial race, Honorable Isa Mohammed Ashiru has been described as the man who can take Kaduna state to the promise land. He is the man whom the cap fits for  he has the burning desire to deliver.

Ashiru 2019 Campaign team disclosed this to journalists during an interactive session at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Council Secretariat Kaduna.

His antecedents coupled with his burning desire to reposition Kaduna state his close associate,   immediate past Chairman,  House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Honourable Godfrey Ali Gaiya says would do the magic as he is yet to see his match.

“Isa Mohammed Ashiru has been a parliamentarian for 16 consecutive years. One trade mark of his which is worthy of mention is that for these 16years, this young man have been involved in the Committee on Appropriation.

“For eight good years, he was Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation in the Kaduna state House of Assembly. For another 8yrs he was the Deputy Chairman on the Appropriation Committee of the Federal House of Representative.

“For those of us that may not understand the significance of appropriation, it simply means an office that is saddled with the projects that you see captured in our budget year in, year out.

And for somebody who has chaired such committee in the House of assembly, during the Makarfi’s era, you would agree with me that it was a period when Kaduna state was opened in so many places in terms of bringing physical infrastructure to almost every nooks and cranny of the state.

“A number of roads you see came into being under Makarfi’s administration which were all captured under the leadership of Ashiru as the House Committee Chairman on Appropriation.

And not just to execute projects it enabled him as chairman to go round all the villages where these projects were cited and that had given him the opportunity of knowing every village in this state.

“He is a man that travelled all over the nooks and breath of this state and therefore very knowledgeable in our existence as a state, .in our coexistence as a people, in our religion, and our culture.

“He is somebody who has been so exposed and by that has removed any iota of either tribalism or any form of religious bigotry.

He is somebody l know so well that has all the leadership qualities and l always tell people that Hon. Isa Ashiru even when you tie a blindfold in my face and l hear his voice at the other side, l would not doubt who is speaking.

l would prefer to cross to wherever he is because l know he is a man of sound character, he is a man of integrity and he is a man of focus.

“We cannot move around with somebody who we know does not have the love of Kaduna state at heart.

He has had this burning desire of changing Kaduna state from the level we find ourselves to a higher level. Some may be wondering because he lost last time and that is why is now back for the mere quest of wanting to rule Kaduna state by all means. Truly that is not the idea.

“He is driven by his desire to see Kaduna have a new look. To see Kaduna has a new direction .To see Kaduna where everybody irrespective of his tribe or religion would have a hope of a place that you can call a home”.

Those were the eloquent and captivating words of the honorable friend of his, Godfrey Gaya.

The Chairman Media Committee Ashiru Campaign Team, Alhaji Shuaibu Gimi is of no doubt that Ashiru’s passion for reengineering Kaduna state would pave way for the needed infrastructural development.

“He is passionate about the people of Kaduna State.

“He intends to transform Kaduna State; he intends to re-engineer Kaduna State.” He sounded.

Reacting to why the aspirant had remained silent for quite a while, he said the circumstances on ground necessitated his decision to remain silent but was waiting for the right time.

Gimi informed that Ashiru is, “One if not the only among all the aspirants perhaps apart from the person who had won the election who is now the governor that had maintained his secretariat up till now. Our being here today is an indication that we are ready to interact with journalists”. He assured.

The former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Kaduna State, Alhaji Yaro Makama full of optimism of Ashiru’s victory come 2019 warned the electorates on the consequence of choosing a wrong leader.

The electorate he said has both powers to choose the right or wrong leaders advising that they make the right choice come 2019 general election.

The Director General,  Ashiru  2019 Campaign  Team,  Ambassador Sule Buba assured and pledged that Isa Ashiru government will be media friendly.

“There will be no greed; some of the problems of this government he had attributed to greed.

“I am seeking your cooperation. In your role as journalists, you are expected to be neutral but join us and we would carry you along.

“Our candidate is one to beat.  We have no doubt we will take over Sir Kashim Ibrahim House come 2019”.

Comrade Luka Biniat a seasoned journalist and an insider who knows where the shoe pinches re-iterated their media team’s commitment in maintaining a robust relationship with the press.

Expatiating further as to the reason why the Gubernatorial Candidate had all along maintained his silence, he said,

“Let me add to what my chairman earlier said. You would recall that after Ashiru left the PDP, he joined the APC so he formed part of the ruling government. As events turned out the government policies became rather anti it. Still a member of that government, it would look unethical to the principles of loyalty to speak against the government and that was why he maintained his dignified silence until when the time became ripe and could not stomach it.

You would recall that he issued a statement the last democracy anniversary in which he bore his mind saying that Kaduna state had been under siege and that it would be unfortunate to continue like this in 2019.

That was a signal that he was leaving and since he was going to lead, he now have the morale temerity to make comment against government which he was part of. To also give him credit, he was not part of the people who were in government who were singing about this government as if it was being run by angels just to turn round again to be lowering the same people that they were praising. So, he maintained his silence, you cannot controvert it with anything that he said was honoring this government.

Now as he is coming out to vie for the job of a governorship, he has formed a media team in which we are part of and l can assure you from now on-wards, the doors are open. He concluded.

In his remarks,  the Chairman  Kaduna NUJ Council,  Comrade Adamu Yusuf expressed the Union’s continuous support for good governance.
