The ninth House of Representatives he recalled had passed a resolution calling on the then president to lift the embargo on employment. That led to social media report that embargo had been lifted on employment but surprisingly, action has not been taken.
Lamenting , the removal of subsidy on petroleum has further compounded the problem as it has increased the hardship on jobless Nigerian youths.
While acknowledging president Tinubu’s recent move of bringing succor, he said.
“We appreciates the measures planned by the president to alleviate the suffering of the masses.
The lifting of embargo on employment and going ahead to employ young qualified Nigerians he said should be part of Mr. President’s rescue measures as some of the savings from the removal of the subsidy could be useful in this direction.
For speedy result, the House has mandated the Committees on Public Service Matters, Labour and Employment to be constituted. It should ensure compliance and report back within four weeks for further legislative measures.
