The Kaduna State Government under the leadership of Governor Mall Uba Sani  ,  in its continued celebration of 100 days in office has commissioned Women and Children Shelter.

The Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe on Sunday, 3rd September 2023, on behalf of the Governor commissioned the project at Katuru unguwar Sarki Kaduna.

In her Address while expressing happiness for the project which concerns Women and Girls said, “she is sad that women are still subjected to all forms of violence in private and public places”. Both in their homes, communities and working places.

 .

The project she said will enhance and  strengthen response to achieve success in the thrive to stop any abuse against women and Children.

Commissioner For Local Government’s Media Team, reports that it was a dream come true for the ministry as the Commissioner, Human Services and Social Development, Hajiya Rabi Salisu could not hide her joy at the actualization of the project.

Its implementation she said will enforced oriented result at all levels of addressing forms of violence to the less privileged.

Hajiya Rabi Salisu explained that her ministry amongst others focusses on education, empowerment, as well as  fights all issues of Sexual Gender Based Violence.

She appreciated Development partners, the likes of  UNDP ,UNFPA and UN for their continued support.

Goodwill messages were delivered by District head of Gabasawa, Alh Shitu Ibrahim Dikko, FIDA Chairperson, Barr Aisha Abdu.

In attendance were, Head of Service Hajiya Habiba Shekarau, Commissioner of Ministry for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, Commissioner Health, Hon. Umma K Ahmed, Commissioner Finance,  Hon. Shizza Joy  Nasara Bada Traditional Rulers and Development partners.
