Kabido Chapel of NUJ Kaduna Inaugurates New Executive Team, Promises Vibrant Leadership

In a ceremony marked by unity and optimism, the Kabido Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna Council, officially inaugurated its new set of executive members who will steer the affairs of the chapel for the next tenure.

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the NUJ Council Secretariat, brought together veteran journalists, council executives, and members of sister unions who came to witness the occasion.

Speaking during the event, the NUJ Kaduna Council Chairman, Comrade Abdulgafar Alabelewe, charged the newly elected officers to serve with dedication, integrity, and teamwork. He emphasized that collective effort remains the foundation of progress and urged the new leadership to uphold the values of professionalism and unity within the chapel.

Alabelewe commended Kabido Chapel for its consistency and focus, noting that it remains one of the most organized and vibrant groups under the council. He also applauded the electoral committee, chaired by veteran journalist Mr. John Fwah, for conducting a smooth and transparent election process.

In their goodwill messages, the Council Secretary Comrade Gambo Santos, veteran journalist Alhaji Tajudeen Ajibade, and Mr. Abel Adamu congratulated the new executives, urging them to build on the achievements of their predecessors and continue fostering excellence in journalism.

The Chief Executive Officer, Kabido Newspaper, Adamu Marshal thanked the council for given recognition to the chapel and hope to strengthen the existing relationship for progress. He thanked everyone for the contribution and wished the new executive a fruitful tenure.

In her acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated Chairperson, Jummai Adamu, expressed deep gratitude to the council leadership and members for their support and confidence.

“On behalf of the newly inaugurated executives, I sincerely thank the Chairman and the entire council for your unwavering support to Kabido Chapel. We are committed to justifying the trust reposed in us and to working diligently for the progress of our chapel,” she said.

Dignitaries at the event included the President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Comrade Isaiah Benjamin, the Zone A Secretary of NAWOJ, Hajiya Daharatu Ahmed Aliyu, alongside other NUJ council executives and members.

Benjamin Auta – Vice Chairman

Wada Muhammad – Secretary

Muhammad Auwal Goronyo – Assistant Secretary

Umar Huseini Zamzam – Financial Secretary

Sky Nana Yau – Auditor

Zainab Tanimu – Treasurer

The event ended on a note of celebration and renewed commitment to strengthening the voice of journalism in Kaduna and beyond.
