Joy Omagha Idam, Calabar
The Big Qua Parish of the Presbyterian Church, In Calabar Municipality, Cross River State. Was the venue for the special Thanksgiving Service in honour of Princess Gloria Eyo-Honesty 11.
The Special Service was officiated by Rev Daniel Etim, who called on all the worshippers to be committed to the service of God and humanity in order to live long.
Rev Daniel Etim noted that Princess Gloria Eyo-Honesty11, despite her age is always among the first people in church for all services and programs in church.
He called on the younger ones to emulate this Sterling qualities. Adding that if you make God business your business he will make your business his own as he has done in the life of Princess Gloria Eyo-Honesty and her family.
Rev Daniel Etim also noted that when there are projects in the Church, Princess Gloria Eyo- Honesty is the first to give her contribution.
He prayed for the family, for God to continue to expand their coast and for them to be globally known.
Speaking with CECEF crew during the reception, the National Coordinator Child Education and Crime Eradication Foundation, CECEF Princess Amb Evelyn Eyo-Honesty Ogbogu, noted that the children of Princess Gloria Eyo-Honesty11, were just abiding with the Biblical injunction to “honour thy father and mother that thy days may be long” thus we came together from all over the globe to celebrate our mother at 71.
Our Mother has always been there for us through thick and thin and it’s only natural that we should reciprocate the gesture.
This is what our NGO is known for putting smiles and bringing succor to widows. And it’s only natural that charity should begin at home.
She called on Nigerians to learn to celebrate their parents while they are living as sang by Flavour. That it does not make sense buying 100 cows to celebrate a parent burial when you never killed one cow for them while living.
Earlier while interviewing the first child of King Eyo- Honesty 11, Princess Akpo Charles Oyo Ittah, on growing up with their mother. She noted that despite being royalty they were not spared disciplinary actions when any child misbehaved. And that it made “us grow up into gentlemen and ladies who obey all the laws of the land” all thanks to our mother. “We will continue to celebrate her”, she concluded.
