Nastrul Lahil -L Fatih Society NASFAT has embarked on special prayers for  Nigerians and the nation as it goes into general elections.

The prayer which is meant to seek Allah’s intervention for a peaceful and hitch free elections kick- started on Friday simeousteniousy in all NASFAT branches and groups across the nation.
The Zonal Missioner/lmam NASFAT Kaduna Branch, Imam Marooph Muh’d Raji looking at the theme, “Attainment Of Good Governance: The Joint Task of Leaders and Followers”, had in his special Friday kutuba stressed on the role of citizens in electing good leaders.
He called on Nigerians to live up to their responsibilities by voting their conscience for candidates of their choices.
NASFAT Lead Missioner, NASFAT Doka Group, Ustazh Kabir Uthman, also conducted special prayer for the nation and entire members for protection and peace to reign throughout the election.
The special prayer he explained was  sent from the Chief Missioner, NASFAT Headquarters, Onike Maruf and to be conducted in all NASFAT branches and groups across the nation.
During the Asalat Ustazh Dr.Luqman Salati, member Missionary board, NASFAT Kaduna Branch and Ustazh Ismail Kolawole of Doka Group Missionary board, both delivered lecture on the topic: “Making Nigeria Work For All Nigerians: Our Collective Duty.
Delivering his lecture, Ustazh Kolawole said Nigeria is a blessed nation. A nation blessed with abundant resources but  misused so Allah sent down calamities which we are suffering today as a nation.
Quran chapter 15, he said is talking about Nigeria where Allah used the example of a nation which was safe and secured. Provision in abundant from every locations but denied the favour of Allah, so Allah made it to taste from what they have been doing.
-.
“We all know what Nigeria was before now. Everything was running fine for Nigeria. No banditry, no hunger, no kidnapping and Allah gave us abundant natural resources but what happened?
Human beings became ungrateful to Allah that is why we are visited with different calamities.
He lamented over some ungodly practices in the society such as homosexuality, rape,  and manners of things many of us engage in which has attracted all the problems we are witnessing today.
“We have people who involve themselves in homosexuality because of power. People belong in so many things because you want to belong and this is part of the sins in which Allah tormented a particular nation. Allah upturned the land and everybody died.  Allah wiped them away because they involved themselves in homosexuality.
“We are crying that things are not working fine in Nigeria. In your own capacity how have you contributed to make it work?
We are killing innocent souls of Nigerians unjustly and we want things to work fine? Are you doing the right thing?
You find lecturers having affairs with their students, spiritual leaders, be it  pastors, imams aiding criminals, evil doers in perpetrating their evil deeds.
It does not work that way.  We have to change our ways before the country can work fine. We have to think holistically.
“You just go to the hospital and see for yourself.  You will discover that the high rate of patients with blood pressure, (BP) diabetes is alarming.
We need to change our attitudes. Go closer to our creator and seek for mercy, for Allah is ever forgiven and merciful.
However, he cautioned that seeking for forgiveness has to come from the heart with the commitment of not going back to commiting such sins again.
“Anything you are doing that you know is not good, you are also not making Nigeria to work fine.
Start from your own micro family. We must all repent for our sins. Remember as a Muslim, we are only on earth temporary and will all account for our deeds on earth on the day of judgement.  So turn a new live. Seek for Allah’s mercy.
The erudite scholar also condemned some  derogatory statements being made by some individuals which he said are detrimental to the workability of a nation.
 Such statements like,
“If you cannot beat them, join them.” It is not healthy for the growth of the nation and therefore should be done away with.
Another awful statement mentioned is that of, “l cannot kill myself. This statement is not helping Nigeria to work. This is not patriotic.” He said.
The act of taking Haram he also mentioned as not helping the situation.
In Quran chapter 8, Allah says, “fear that trials when it strikes —. Are we not sharing from what we did now?’’
As Muslims, he said the Quran teaches us on how to conduct ourselves, how to run affairs, believing in one God and all that Allah has forbidden us and that which He has made alert (rightful)  Therefore, it is bond on every Nigerian to irrespective of religion and tribal affiliation make Nigeria work.
“We have the right to make Nigeria work and we should desist from random curses. Cursing our leaders and cursing our country.”
Stressing further, he said, what people fail to understand is that if the country, Nigeria is in peace, our individual homes will also be in peace. He challenged every Nigerian to make Nigeria work.
