Dr. Oladigbolu Kehinde, eye specialist explains further.
“The eyes are very important sensitive and the most important organs of the body.
We all need vision to function normally, to read, and move around your environment. So, it is important that everyone should take care of his/her eyes.
If you have complain, don’t self medicate. Don’t apply unknown medication to your eyes. Try and go to the hospital so that you see eye professionals for proper examination and treatment.
“And the elderly as you get old you develop refractive error. Get glasses to read, go to the hospital, let your eyes be checked. Don’t go and buy glasses by the road side or market. It can spoil your eyes go to the hospital and get tested.” He advised.
Presbyopia is a refractive error that makes it hard for middle-aged and older adults to see things up close. It happens because the lens (an inner part of the eye that helps the eye focus) stops focusing light correctly on the retina (a light-sensitive layer of tissue at the back of the eye).
Beneficiaries of the exercise appreciating NASFAT’s contributions to the welfare of its members thanked the leadership of the branch, Hon Musbau Adepoju for deeming it fit extending the exercise to its immediate community.
